What inspires Miller Candle Co. and Barn & Hive?

At Miller Candle Co., each candle begins as a story — scent-led pieces inspired by American landscapes and everyday rituals: farm kitchens at dawn, open ranges at dusk, and quiet garden mornings. We hand-pour every candle in Texas using reusable whiskey glasses, blending craftsmanship with a nostalgic, homespun feel.

Barn & Hive, our down-to-earth bath + body line, draws from farm life, nature, and the art of honest, simple care. Each soap and lotion is made with nourishing goat milk, honey, and plant oils — ingredients that work as hard as you do. Our colognes and perfumes use skin-friendly, phthalate-free fragrance blends that capture the rugged beauty of the West: warm leather, wildflowers, mountain air, and wide-open skies.

Are Miller Candle Co. and Barn & Hive the same company?

Yes. Both brands are part of the same creative family and handcrafted under one roof in Texas. Miller Candle Co. is our home-fragrance line — candles and scent stories — while Barn & Hive is our bath + body companion brand, inspired by the same American landscapes and sense of honest, simple care. Together, they share a single vision: to bring warmth, authenticity, and handcrafted quality to everyday life.

Where are your products made?

All of our candles and home fragrance products are handcrafted in Texas, USA. We pour, label, and pack each item in small batches to maintain consistent quality and authenticity. Every piece reflects the warmth and character of our Texas roots.


Product Care

How do I get the best burn from my candle?
  • First burn: let the melt pool reach the glass edge (≈2–3 hours).
  • Trim the wick to 1/4" before each lighting.
  • Burn on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts; limit to 3–4 hours at a time.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Stop use when 1/2" of wax remains. Once empty, clean and reuse your whiskey glass as drinkware or refill it with a new candle.


Refills

Can I refill my whiskey glass candle?

Yes! Our candles are designed to be refillable. Once your whiskey glass is empty, clean it gently with warm water and mild soap, dry thoroughly, and insert a new refill candle insert available from our Refill Collection.

How do I clean out the wax before refilling?
  1. Freeze the candle: Place your empty whiskey glass in the freezer for about 30–45 minutes. The leftover wax will harden and shrink slightly.
  2. Pop out the wax: Use a butter knife or spoon handle to gently lift the wax and wick tab from the bottom.
  3. Remove the wick tab: Peel off any remaining adhesive from the glass base.
  4. Wash the glass: Wash with warm, soapy water to remove residue. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  5. Insert your refill: Place your new refill candle insert into the clean, dry whiskey glass, centering the wick holder.

Avoid using boiling water — it can crack the glass or smear wax. Trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting your refill for the best burn.

You can find refill options for your favorite scents on our Refills page. Choose from core and seasonal fragrances to keep your whiskey glass in rotation all year long.

Can I use other wax to refill my candle?

We recommend using our official refills for the safest burn and best scent throw. Other wax types may not adhere properly to the glass or wick.


Shipping & Returns

How fast do you ship?

Most orders ship in 2–3 business days. During launches and holidays, allow 3–5 business days. You’ll receive tracking by email.

What’s your return policy?

We have a 7‑day return policy from delivery. To be eligible, items must be in the same condition you received them — unburned and in original packaging — with proof of purchase.

  • Personal fragrances (perfumes, colognes, lotions, beard oils) may be returned or exchanged only if new, unused, unopened, and with all labels/seals intact. Once opened, they’re not eligible for return or exchange for safety and hygiene reasons.
  • How to start: email sales@millercandleco.com. If your return is approved, we’ll send a prepaid label and instructions. Packages sent without approval won’t be accepted.
  • Return shipping: If the item isn’t damaged, defective, or incorrect, the customer is responsible for return/exchange shipping charges.
  • Retail purchases: If you purchased from a retailer/stockist, please contact them directly. We can only process returns for orders placed on our website.

What wax and wicks do you use?

We use 100% soy wax with eco cotton wicks — always paraben and phthalate free, and cruelty-free.


Gifting & Wholesale

Do you offer gift notes or wrapping?

Yes—add a gift note at checkout. Seasonal gift wrap may be available during the holidays.
